Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is famous for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter received numerous awards, including an Oscar for her film Piano. Her acting career began on Broadway and she worked on a wide range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway assignments. From the age of a child she's been enthusiastic in the field of acting. The role she played was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in the school's play. Her mumps made her blind and deaf in the one ear, but she didn't let this hinder her from becoming an actor. In college she studied theatre after which she moved to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved into Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged an acting role as a support as a character Swing Shift. She has since appeared in many TV movies and series over the course of more than 30 years. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
